The final conference of the CEKOM project for smart cities was held in

After 3 years of research and development, results of the CEKOM project were presented to the public. Project was dealing with some challenges of living in city of Rijeka, such as traffic, environment, communal infrastructure and security. At its final conference all six CEKOM sub-projects – Energy&Environment, Connected Traffic, Surinmo, Modesty, Living and 4DII – were presented, and Alarm automatika participated in three of them.

Project 4DII

In the 4DII project, Alarm automatika worked on IoT solutions for the protection of individual points of critical infrastructure:

  • System for detecting faults in steam pipe insulation or ruptures in the pipe itself between the heating plant and the consumer
  • System for detecting faults in the anticorrosion protection system for underground metal gas pipes between the gas substation and the consumer
  • System for detecting dislodged manhole covers in the event of rain sewer overflooding
  • System for detecting alarm conditions related to water meters and water consumption.

The ABsmartInfrastructure application was developed so that the collected data could be centrally monitored in real time and, based on it, provide emergency interventions by the competent services.

Project Connected Traffic

In the Connected Traffic project, Alarm automatika worked on three aspects of traffic improvement in the city of Rijeka.

  • Detection of traffic anomalies and violations through advanced video analytics, vehicle categorization and vehicle identification through LPR, and forwarding of data on detected anomalies to the traffic control center.
  • Early detection of fires in open spaces by thermal cameras, development of software that detects fires and forwards information from the system to the fire alarm center.
  • – A system for counting passengers in public city transport, forwarding data in real time to the traffic control center due to centralized monitoring and management through the ABsistemBUSCounter application.

Project Living

In the project LIVING, Alarm automatika worked on the creation of a mobile and WEB application called the Security Barometer, which provides citizens and visitors of Rijeka with insights into the current and historical security and specific communal situation in the city. The data is primarily based on location (address and coordinates), time and type of event, and users can request notifications about events and areas for which they want to receive information.

Alarm automatika is proud to participate in one of the largest ICT projects in Croatia together with respectable institutions and market leaders such as the University of Rijeka, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Hrvatski Telekom, Combis, Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar, 3tCable, Elektrokovina, Energo, Exevio, Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality Opatija, IOLAP, Vodovod i kanalizacija, Creative Department, Maritime Faculty in Rijeka, Rijeka promet, Apsolon, Smart Sense and SmartIS.
